Currently, I am employed by Cell C in South Africa as a Telecommunication Field Service Specialist. Some of my key responsibilities within this role include:
- Maintaining equipment uptime, Maintenance and in depth fault finding
- Deployment of Power generator, Electrical fault finding and component replacement, AC and DC power work
- Ethernet and wireless link and communication fault finding and installation
- From 2020 I also took over the remote support specialist role for Western Cape Operations, assisting other techs and contractors in the field with fault finding, configurations, access and property queries including rental, power and utilities issues and CREQ’s for internal and external planned work. This added role also included me standing in for my operations manager when he was on leave
- Working a 2week 24hour standby rotation shift
- Required to understand and adhere to strict safety protocols in regards to company and industry safety standards
- Work at heights certification, Communications skills, received EC1 driver’s license for the heavy trailer, 4x4 driving skills, experience in variety of hand and power tools as well as test instruments
- Managing good relations with contractors, councils, field operation departments, landlords and other internal departments
I believe I have proven throughout this position that I have a good understanding of Operations management, fault finding and the ability to adapt into new roles quickly and effectively. I am considered to be a team player and my ability to help, teach and up skill my peers where I can make me easy to work with. I have a basic understanding of software programming and have done various Arduino programming (C++) projects for process control, environmental monitoring, autonomous serial data conversions and various other digital projects. My most prominent skill I poses is my ability to fault find and rectify with precision and understanding.
I am qualified with an N-6 Engineering Studies and Technical Studies from South Africa. I believe that my qualification along with my extensive work experience will provide a solid foundation for this position. I have also started making arrangements in February 2022 to complete my electrical trade test in South Africa before departing to New-Zealand. I am committed to complete this as soon as possible.
