- Plan, organize production schedules, select and purchase materials and maintain an inventory of raw materials and finished products.
- Ensure that the manufacturing process runs reliably and efficiently.

- Determine quality control standards and ensure that products meet standards for both companies and regulatory authorities (FDA).
- Hire and train new employees and conduct performance evaluations to find places for improvements.
- Prepare reports on food quality status and production output to relay to the owner
- Keep records of all tests and inspections that have been conducted.
- Manage and assess the manufacturing operations of the company's quality assurance and production departments.
- Establish and execute plans to efficiently use laboratory and office materials, labor, and equipment to meet key performance indices.
- Organize and oversee the establishment of the department budget.
- Develop and execute changes to machinery and equipment, production systems, and work procedures.
- Direct quality control inspection system for incoming raw materials, process samples, and make production reporting instructions like production inspection and non-conformance reports.
- Create equipment maintenance schedules (preventive maintenance) and suggest changes in machines and/or related parts.
- Recommend and train or oversee training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques. In addition, conduct quality and food safety training for employees.
